A really lovely, quirky illustration showing a pair of turkeys dressed in top hats and waistcoats bemoaning the festive season and wishing all turkey lovers their just deserts!
"The dark days of dinners are over, When gourmets were gathered indoors And we both are fairly in clover, Though comrades have perished by scores, A plague on the festive season! May all men who eat us be ill; And go, and with very good reason, In search of a dose of Blue Pill!
The Blue Pill referred to is the Victorian remedy for indigestion due to over eating and gluttony. (The poem is beneath the illustration but is covered by the matt.) We specialise in decorative antique and vintage prints. Many of our prints are one-offs which you may never see again. All are of limited availability and second copies are often quite hard to find. Mounts are hand cut to suit each print and the result is unique; ready to decorate your home, or ideal to give as a gift.
| Very Good Please Note: There is very faint shadowing from the text/pictures on the reverse of the print. This is hardly noticeable and does not detract from the beauty of the print. A Note on condition: Minor imperfections are to be expected from antique prints due to their age and in many cases this does not affect the appearance of the print. Any blemishes that are noteworthy are described and shown in the picture where possible. Colours will vary slightly depending on your monitor Also Please Note: The watermark in the bottom right hand corner of the image does not appear on the print itself.
