Lovely illustration from a scarce colour edition of the Children's classic by the most well-known of the Alice illustrators, John Tenniel.

A beautiful image of Alice, and one of the most famous of Tenniel's Alice in Wonderland illustrations - Alice taking advice from the Caterpillar -
"She stretched herself up on tiptoe, and peeped over the edge of the mushroom, and her eyes immediately met those of a large blue caterpillar, that was sitting on the top, with his arms folded, quietly smoking a long hookah, and taking not the smallest notice of her or of anything else"
- an early, very rare colour print from this timeless classic.
