| Antique print - Beautiful Little Floral Tailpiece Decoration from Hans Andersen's Fairy Tales 1931An early and rare image of one of Harry Clarke's superb illustrations from Hans Andersen's Fairy tales. Irish illustrator, Harry Clarke (1889-1931), together with Rackham, Neilsen and Dulac, was one of the finest illustrators of his time. As with Aubrey Beardsley, with whom he is often compared, some of Clarke's finest work was in black and white. A vivid and often macabre imagination informs his work, and his fairy tale illustrations are superb.A wonderful little floral decoration from Hans Andersen's Fairy Tales - stylised Art Nouveau drawing with daisies in what appears to be a highly decorative flower bowl Mounted on a stunning jet black mount with a slight sheen. |
