Beautiful illustration from an early and extremely rare British book by one of Britain's best loved children's illustrators.

A beautiful image showing pixies huddled beneath a tree, reading a book. A curious crow looks down from the branch above and wee fairies surround the group, while one climbs a twig. A huge rising sun, a much loved image of Attwell, can be seen in the background. A really lovely image and very scarce. A collector's item. Mounted with a stunning gold foil inlay..

All mounts are hand cut to fit individual print measurements.

Very Good - Some Marking
The print has a few small surface crinkles and a couple of creases to the bottom right hand corner. There is also a very small loss of colour along one of the creases. There is some slight spotting due to age. Because of the colouring of the print, much of this is barely noticeable but the print does have a slightly crumpled look due to the creasing in the bottom corner. Please be aware of this before bidding. Despite these faults this is still a lovely image This does not detract from the beauty of the print.

Minor imperfections are to be expected from antique prints due to their age and in many cases this does not affect the appearance of the print. Any blemishes that are noteworthy are described and shown in the picture where possible.
