Beautiful illustration from an early and extremely rare British book by one of Britain's best loved children's illustrators.

An exquisite image of a young fairy perched on the cap of a beautiful cream spotted mushroom. There are two wee mice , one in red and one in blue, among the daisies that litter the ground. A really lovely image and very scarce. A collector's item. Mounted with a stunning gold foil inlay.

Very Good - Slight Marking
There is some slight spotting due to age which can only be seen if held to the light and a couple of very faint surface crinkles which, again are barely visible due to the colouring of the print. There is some slight orangeish tinting to the top left and above the fairy's head - I'm not sure whether this is due to ageing or whether it is just the colouring of the sky. This is hardly noticeable and does not detract from the beauty of the print.

A Note on condition:
Minor imperfections are to be expected from antique prints due to their age and in many cases this does not affect the appearance of the print. Any blemishes that are noteworthy are described and shown in the picture where possible.
