Absolutely lovely, rare engraving of Oberon, King of the Fairies, ensconced among the leaves and foxgloves under the light of the full moon. Puck, accompanied by a snail, is ready to do as bid. Victorian fairies were not typically cute - Oberon has a beard and Puck reflects his slightly sinister impishness. John Gilbert produced some of the loveliest of Victorian Fairy images - similar in style to Richard Doyle.

Mounted on a stunning jet black mount with a slight sheen.
