Beautiful illustration from Lewis Carroll's timeless classic by the famous British illustrator Arthur Rackham. Alice in Wonderland must be one of Rackham's best works and he is among the best of the Alice illustrators.

They all crowded round it panting and asking, 'But who has won'
This is a wonderful image of Alice and the animals involved in the caucus race - the dodo, duck, parrot mouse and stork, and a crow dressed in a skirt and shawl. As always Rackham's animals are so expressive - the Dodo looks extremely puzzled as he tries to work out who actually won the race... Beautiful colouring

Very Good - Some Marking
There is some buckling (rippling) to the top edge and running down the left hand edge of the print. Although this has been caused by slightly dampness to the paper in the past, the effects are only slight and, because of the colouring of the print, are really only noticeable if held up to the light - once framed this would be barely noticeable... Please be aware of this before buying. Despite these faults this is still a lovely image. This does not detract from the beauty of the print.

Minor imperfections are to be expected from antique prints due to their age and in many cases this does not affect the appearance of the print. Any blemishes that are noteworthy are described and shown in the picture where possible.
